Chris Harden Unveils “Fair Deal for Working Families,” Outlining 11 Priorities for Georgia’s 11th District

Congressional candidate’s agenda focuses on lowering costs, strengthening healthcare, creating good-paying jobs, and bringing greater accountability to Washington

WOODSTOCK, Ga. — Chris Harden, candidate for Congress in Georgia’s 11th Congressional District, today unveiled his “Fair Deal for Working Families: 11 Priorities for the 11th District,” an agenda focused on lowering everyday costs, strengthening the middle class, expanding access to healthcare, creating good-paying jobs and demanding greater accountability from Washington.

“Working families are doing everything right — working hard, raising their kids, paying their bills and trying to build a better future — but Washington keeps making it harder to get ahead,” Harden said. “If you work hard and play by the rules, you deserve a fair shot at the American Dream. Government should work for you, not corporations, special interests or career politicians.”

Harden’s 11 priorities for the 11th District include:

1. Healthcare That Puts Patients Over Profits

   Make healthcare more affordable, expand Affordable Care Act premium tax credits, lower prescription costs and improve access to healthcare services in rural communities.

   
   

2. A Tax Cut for Our Middle Class

   Provide targeted tax relief for working and middle-class families while requiring large corporations and the wealthiest Americans to pay their fair share.

   
   

3. Get Corporate Money Out of Politics

   Harden has pledged not to accept corporate PAC money and supports greater campaign-finance transparency and reforms reducing the influence of special-interest spending.

   
   

4. Lower Costs, Raise Wages

   Protect Georgia workers, farmers and consumers through responsible trade policies while supporting higher wages that provide greater economic security for working families.

   
   

5. Ban Congressional Stock Trading

   Prohibit members of Congress, federal judges, senior Executive Branch officials and their immediate families from trading individual stocks while holding positions of public trust.

   
   

6. Demand Real Transparency in Washington

   Increase government transparency and disclosure while holding public officials accountable regardless of wealth, political party or connections.

   
   

7. Clean Up Congress

   Establish a lifetime ban on former members of Congress lobbying the federal government and an age limit of 80 for members of Congress.

   
   

8. Ban Partisan Gerrymandering

   Establish independent redistricting commissions designed to create fairer maps and more competitive elections.

   
   

   “Politicians shouldn’t get to pick their voters,” Harden said. “Voters should pick their politicians.”

   
   

9. Crack Down on Price Gouging

   Strengthen protections against abusive price-gouging practices and prohibit AI-driven surveillance pricing that uses consumer data to individually price essential goods such as groceries.

   
   

10. Responsible Oversight of Data Center Development

    Create stronger standards protecting water and natural resources, encourage local job creation, scrutinize public subsidies and prevent ordinary utility customers from disproportionately absorbing infrastructure and energy costs associated with large data centers.

    
    

    “Northwest Georgia can welcome innovation without writing a blank check,” Harden said. “If massive corporations want to build data centers in our communities, they need to be good neighbors, protect our resources, create good local jobs and pay their fair share.”

    
    

11. Invest in Clean Energy and 21st-Century Infrastructure

    Invest in affordable energy, modernize Georgia’s electric grid, roads and bridges, and expand housing opportunities for working families, younger Georgians and seniors.

    
    

Harden said the Fair Deal reflects his belief that Congress should focus on restoring economic opportunity and making the American Dream attainable for another generation.

“I grew up in a trailer park in Rossville, Georgia,” Harden said. “I know what the American Dream can mean to a working family because I lived it. My parents worked hard, public schools gave me an opportunity, and I was able to build a life they could be proud of. That promise shouldn’t disappear for the next generation.”

Harden says the agenda is intended to reach beyond traditional partisan divisions and address concerns shared by families throughout the district.

“This campaign isn’t about left versus right,” Harden said. “It’s about whether the people we send to Washington are working for families in Cobb, Cherokee, Bartow, Pickens and Gordon counties — or working for themselves and the special interests that keep them there.”

“The people of the 11th District deserve a fair deal. These are the 11 commitments I’ll take with me to Congress.”
